Gardening 101: Grow Your Own! Beginner Gardening Basics

Do you want to grow your own food but don't know where to start?
Do you have limited space and don't know what you can grow?
Do you have an existing garden, but it needs an overhaul?
Let me help you with your garden dreams of growing fresh, healthy food and becoming more self-sufficient! I have eleven years of experience growing food for my family and others and specialize in small spaces! You don't need a huge garden to grow a lot of food!
In this two-hour class, we will
-dive into picking the right spot for your unique space
-different options for growing based on your lifestyle and needs
-ways to feed your soil and plants
-companion planting
-what plants to grow for our area and when to plant them!
There will be plenty of time for discussion and you can send follow up questions through our email/social media for more troubleshooting/guidance throughout the growing season. I want to help in any way I can!
This class includes a paper copy overview of what is discussed and two free seed packets of your choice from our home garden. Attendees will also receive a 10% off coupon for Blue Ridge Hydroponics.

Seed starting can be overwhelming if you’ve never done it before. Let me take some difficulty out of it and provide all the materials to get your seeds started! Starting your own garden from seeds allows you to grow different varieties of plants that aren’t always available at the greenhouse, and you get a head start on the growing season. Our classes are laid back, with plenty of time for questions and fun!
Class is at Sycamore Station on Saturday, March 15th from 2pm-4pm. You must preregister for the class.
When you leave our class, you will have knowledge of seed starting and tips, and 48 plants of your choosing started and ready to grow!
What you will get: to take home
-A heat mat for sprouting seeds and labels
-4 12 cell seed starting trays with built in lights that plug in
-I provide the soil and a wide variety of seeds so when you leave, you will have the potential to have 48 plants started. Think peppers, tomatoes, greens, flowers, squash, cucumbers, etc.
-Instruction page with tips and tricks. I’m available for troubleshooting along the way.
The heat mat and cell starting trays can be used for many years, saving you lots of money in the future.
